Board Appreciation Ideas for Nonprofits

Board Appreciation Ideas for Nonprofits

Board members put in numerous hours, efforts, and resources to represent, promote, and support that site their nonprofits. Without them, your nonprofit would be nowhere. This is why it is crucial to show your gratitude for their efforts. It not only helps to build a culture for recognition and appreciation, but also increases their involvement with the cause and encourages them to work hard.

Making the effort to write a personal card demonstrates that you really care about your board member’s needs and preferences. You can also make it more personal than a generic greeting card, as you can include specifics regarding the board member’s activities and send them a personal note.

A thoughtful gift is a great way to show your gratitude. A travel cup or reusable cooler is an original and useful present for a school board member who will remind them of their contribution to the local community.

Another option is hosting an event specifically for your board members who volunteer. This can be a live or online event which allows your board members to honor their accomplishments in a group. You could also highlight the achievements of your board in a press release or social media shoutout. This is an excellent way to create awareness.
